To My Page

Hello, I'm Joy. For as long a I can remember, I have loved animals. My mom says my first word was doggie. I was enchanted with Lassie and the Albert Payson Terhune books. I got my first purebred collie when I was 6 years old and my first registered collie when I was 15. As a natural progression, early in my life, I started raising collies. I had some lovely dogs over the twenty years that I raised them. Time and life style changes dictated that a smaller breed of dog was in order. Shetland Sheepdogs were my first choice. I have never regretted the change.

As for a choice of careers, first and foremost, I have been a wife, mother, and homemaker. Secondly, I chose nursing and have a BSN degree. My area of focus has been Coronary Care. I am currently enjoying a sabbatical that is affording me time to pursue my hobbies: dogs, computers, early V8 fords, and artwork. Over the years, I have dabbled in a lot of things such as refinishing furniture, needle point, various crafts and even trying my hand at carpentry. My life has been very full and I am truly blessed.
